Please don't leave me

Artist: Oksana Pasaiko

Oksana Pasaiko's declamation reads –"Please don't leave me" – as a reenactment in Cyrillic text of Bas Jan Ader's original work from 1969. Although Pasaiko would resist any interpretation, the statement has a visceral power relating to our primal fear of being left alone, operating on both personal and collective levels. In addition, it emphasizes the binding object-subject relationship by exploring how subjectivity defines itself in the work of art.
